Camellias are perceived to bring luck and fortune during spring and are often used as offerings to the heavens during the Chinese New Year. The traditional Camellia species of Yunnan, the Camellia Reticulata, is only in bloom during the spring in Yunnan. According to research, Camellias have existed since the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. Due to its long and rich history, the Camellia has been crowned as the city flower of Kunming. Additionally, it is also the most common plant used to make into tea; green tea, black tea, white tea, oolong tea, etc.
TOUR ITINERARY
DAY 1: SINGAPORE - KUNMING

This morning you will take a flight to Kunming, the capital city of China’s Yunnan Province. Bestowed with a mild climate all year round, Kunming is also known as Spring City. On arrival, you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel.

DAY 2: KUNMING - DALI

After breakfast, transfer to Dali. The ancient city of Dali is one of Yunnan's most popular tourist destinations. It has historic sites, ancient buildings, nearby beautiful Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake, local crafts, and the "Foreigners' Street" with Western-style restaurants and bars and English-speaking business owners.
Visit Erhai Lake with boat followed by Jinsuo Island which is composed of limestone. There are several karst caves, among which the longest is more than 500 meters long through the east and west coast. In the cave, there are stalactites available for viewing. Currently, the cave attractions are under exploitation. From there, you can see the beautiful view of Erhai Lake and the Bai ethnic style architectures. After that, take a leisurely stroll in the Old Town of Dal and Foreigners Street.

DAY 3: DALI

This day, visit the Dali Camellia festival (ticket will be paid on spot). In the afternoon, you will visit Cangshan. On Cangshan Mountain, the ecological zones are obvious. There are more than 3,000 kinds of plants on the mountain. The mountain is a highlight of the Dali area, with numerous springs, ponds and waterfalls, beautiful scenery, hiking trails, a range of ecological zones with thousands of plant species, and scenic views of lakes and the city of Dali.

DAY 4: DALI - NUODENG VILLAGE

Morning after breakfast, you will proceed to Nuodeng Village, It’s regarded as one of oldest traditional villages in Yunnan. Spectacular hamlet of ancient Ming and Qing dynasty houses and flagstone streets is unique.
Nuodeng village was called the “Nuodeng well”. The “well” here means “salt well”, developed since the Han Dynasty, which now has a history of two thousand years. It was once an important stopover on the salt route, but those glory days have long passed, and only a few salt wells at the entrance to the village are a sign of times gone by. Today, Nuodeng’s residents, members of the Bai ethnic group, earn their livelihoods tilling the fields on the steep slopes of the surrounding hills. The well preserved ancient village scenery and Ming and Qing style buildings which are over a hundred years old in Nuodeng village are fairly intact in their original look and status, which are rare in Yunnan province, even in the whole country.

DAY 5: NUODENG VILLAGE - TENGCHONG

After breakfast, we’ll drive to Tengchong, the western part of Yunnan Province. Tengchong is located along the Tea-horse Road and is a famous historical city bearing witness to the rise, prosperity and fall of that significant trade route. The city retains every aspect brought by the once thriving trade with aged streets lined with horse inns, shops selling horse gears and entertainment catering to those passing-by merchants. Walking along the tranquil streets, one can still feel the trading air of this former trade town.
Upon arrival, visit Heshun Old Town. The whole town is built down the hillside and circled by a small river, with small paths twisted around traditional houses. you will see local people living here, farming, and chatting with each other. You will feel warm and peaceful here, fully escape from concrete jungles.

DAY 6: TENGCHONG

This morning, enjoy the magnificent Camellia in Hemu village, which is known as the birthplace of “Chinese Red Camellia tree”and“Gene Base of World Red Camellia tree”. There are more than 7000 trees over 100 years old in this village.
In the afternoon, visit the Tengchong National Volcanic Park. Tengchong has the biggest volcanic groups in China. Around 90 volcanic cones, 22 of whose vents are in good condition. Volcanic landscape such as Volcanic lake, cave, karst terrace dominates the area. A Volcanic park was set up in the Mazhan town, 23 kilometers away from Tengchong town to provide tourists the possible best opportunity to enjoy the volcanic wonders.

DAY 7: TENGCHONG - KUNMING

After breakfast, visit Tengchong Beihai Wetland Reserve, the only national wetland reserve in Yunnan Province. Beihai Wetland in Tengchong Wetland is a piece of turf-covered marshland floating on water. Large stretches of grassy turf float on the water, like a huge colorful flower carpet, under which is fathomless water. The Beihai Wetland is also a paradise for various species of flora and fauna.
Drive to the airport for your flight to Kunming. Pick up and transfer to hotel in Kunming.

DAY 8: KUNMING - SINGAPORE

Visit the Dragon gate of Western Hill. Afterwards, transfer to airport for your flight home.
